Assorted pebbles or river rocks
Rubber mat
Pattex Universal Silicone

Recycle and old doormat, or cut a sheet of rubber to size. Many larger fabric stores offer various rubber products for various upholstery projects.

Before sticking down the pebbles, arrange them on the rubber mat until all the pebbles fit nicely.

Use Pattex Universal Silicone to attach the individual pebbles to the rubber mat. Apply a thick bead of silicone to the back of each press and press firmly onto the mat.

Once you have finished sticking down all the pebbles, leave to cure for 24 hours.

After that you can leave as is, or you can apply a satin on gloss spray varnish over the top.

Choose smooth beach pebbles or river rocks on a rubber mat as rugs for next to the bed. Their smooth texture and varied shapes make them an ideal decorative accent.

Window boxes filled with vibrant flowers are a welcome sign of spring. But when it rains, the soil in them often spatters, dirtying windows and sills. To prevent the muddy splashes, spread river stones (available at garden centers) in a layer over the tops of the flower beds. The stones will act as a barrier while keeping the soil moist for the blooming plants.

Keep mess out of your home with a pebble tray for wiping muddy feet.
