4 x 45mm cut screws

120- and 240-grit sandpaper

4 knobs or handles of your choice
Drill / Driver plus assorted bits
Countersink bit

Note: All sections are joined by pre-drilling 3mm countersunk pilot holes.

1. Before starting the assembly, draw out your design on the front panel and sides and cut out with a jigsaw. Sand with 120-grit sandpaper to even out and then sand with 240-grit to smooth.

2. Measure up 50mm on the front and back of both sides to mount the base. Drill through the sides and into the base to secure the base.

3. Attach the legs to the sides, making sure that they are flush at the top and along the inside edge. Use two screws at the top and bottom of each leg to secure to the side.

If you have a pockethole jig you can attach the side sections to the leg. You also have the option of using a biscuit joiner or dowels.

4. Secure the top by driving screws through the top into the legs.

5. Attach the front panel with 4 screws spaced along the top edge into the base.

6. On the underside of the top and both sides of the base measure in 642mm from both sides and mark. Use this as a guide to mount the centre upright. Drill through the top and bottom to secure.

7. Attach the back support by driving screws through the top. The centre base support is secured through the front and back supports. This base supports prevents any bowing.

8. Assemble the drawers by placing the side sections between the front and back. Insert the base and secure with two screws through the sides, front and back.

  • Use wood filler to fill in all screw holes.
  • Sand all cut edges with 240-grit sandpaper to smooth before painting.
  • Add your choice of knobs or handles to the drawers after painting.
