Recipe holder for iPad or tablet

Who says you can’t cook and browse at the same time... we can with this iPad or tablet recipe holder. This one is made using scraps of supawood, but you can make with any type of timber of board that you have lying around.

YOU WILL NEED:
1 of 200 x 260mm – 16mm supawood – back
2 of 50 x 150mm – 16mm supawood – front support
1 of 50 x 150mm – 16mm supawood – back support
No More Nails adhesive
Rust-Oleum 2X spray paint in your choice of colour
TOOLS:
Drill / Driver + assorted bits
Jigsaw + clean-cut blade
Tape measure or steel rule and pencil

HERE’S HOW:

1. Use a jigsaw to curve the corners on the top of the back section. This is optional and you can leave as is if you don’t have a jigsaw or prefer not to cut curves.

2. Glue the two support sections together to form an ‘L’ shape and then glue this to the front of the back section.

3. Place the back section against the back support and mark at an angle. This allows the recipe holder to sit at an angle when in use, and makes viewing easier.  Cut off the unwanted section with a jigsaw.

4. Use a tape measure or steel rule and pencil to mark the centre of the back section.

5. Using the drawn line as a guide, hold the back support in place and drill a 3mm pilot hole through the back section and into the back support. Countersink and secure with two 4 x 25mm screws.

6. Sand the cut edges smooth with 180-grit sandpaper and then apply a thin layer of wood glue over the edges. This seals the absorbent edges and reduces paint absorption, which means you use less paint.

7. Use Rust-Oleum 2X spray paint to paint your recipe holder. Apply two light, even coats, allowing the first coat to dry before applying the second coat.

Super easy... and now you can read recipes as you cook - without getting your iPad or tablet covered in mashed potatoes and gravy!
