HGTV Casting Interior Designers, Architects, Contractors and their Expatriate Clients!

House Hunters International: Renovation is a 1-hour television show airing on the Home and Garden Television Network (HGTV) in America. They are currently shooting the first season of the show, and the first half-hour of the series is designed to de-mystify the international home-buying process. The show goes behind the scenes of house shopping where expats and their real estate agents tour 3 comparable homes.

The first portion of the show would take about 3-5 consecutive days to film. The date of filming would be determined, relative to the timing of the home construction schedule and arrangements will be made to coordinate with the homeowner and architect/contactor’s schedules and generally film on weekends.

The second half of the program follows the home owners, designers and architects as they embark on renovations. Ideally the home owners should be outgoing and fun and have bought a property within the last few years. This would take 3-4 days to film, during the many weeks of renovation. The production schedule would be determined based on the size of the project.

They are actively looking for homeowners who:

1) Have recently moved to South Africa from another country (from anywhere in the world – does not have to be from the U.S.)
2) Have purchased a home in South Africa within the past 3 years, or are about to sign a contract on a home.
3) Need renovations to an existing home (not building one from the ground up).
4) Planning to renovate at least 2 to 3 areas of the home (E.G: new kitchen, new bathroom, removing walls, building closets, installing modern appliances, installing new window panes, etc).

Financial compensation is provided to the expatriate home owner, real estate agent, and architect or designer involved. The home owner should be willing to be able to allow about ten (10) days of their time in total. A total of $4,500 USD is paid in compensation for time. The agent who appears on camera will get a $500 compensation for their time. The architect/designer will also get a $500 compensation for their time.
